Up

I've been sailing since I was about four years old.  Since both my parents were public school teachers, the whole family had the summer off.  We would all pile into the boat, and take off up the New England coast all summer.  Though I didn't realize it at the time, this experience was pretty different from that of most other kids.

The following few pictures were taken a few years ago, in Narragansett Bay, on a pretty windy day.  My father's at the helm, and my best man Josh Beagan is along for a ride.

Now, it's not ALWAYS blowing thirty knots of wind--sometimes it's much quieter, and something my wife can actually enjoy.  On the left is her along with Steve Lynch, a friend of almost twenty years, and Adam Tight, a Naval Academy buddy at the helm.  Steve is holding my dog, Martha.  On the right is my babe catching some sun on the aft cabin deck.

Here's my friend and drummer, Bren, taking a leap with his son, Aaron:

Here's a great shot of a sunset from a harbor in Long Island, NY.
